The Dallas City Council voted on Wednesday to ban the sale, possession and use of K-2.
The chemically-enhanced marijuana substitute is currently sold legally around the city.
Only Angela Hunt opposed the move, proposing a ban only for minors.
The ban also adds Salvia, a legal, powerful natural hallucinogen.
It could take effect as early as this Sunday.
Dallas follows the lead of several North Texas cities which now prohibit K-2.
