DALLAS -- Two incumbent Dallas County constables have been in the headlines in recent weeks facing allegations of misdeeds.

In Tuesday's primary election, Precinct 1 Constable Derrick Evans was ahead by a clear margin with nearly all precincts counted; the other, Precinct 5 Constable Jaime Cortes, was headed to a runoff after a four-way race.

Dallas Morning News political writer Colleen McCain Nelson discussed the vote with News 8's Shelly Slater.
