At this hour, Barack Obama has won election as president. That's with 100 percent of the precincts reporting.

Obama has won 307 electoral votes in 33 states. He is leading in 1 state for a total of 8 more electoral votes.

Romney has won 215 electoral votes in 16 states and the District of Columbia. He is not currently leading in any state.

Independent and other party candidates has won 9 electoral votes in 1 state and currently not leading in any state.

In the 435 U.S. House races, the Republicans have won 226 seats and are leading in the races for 4 seats. The Democrats have won 198 seats and are leading in the races for 2 seats. Independent and other party candidates have won or are leading for 5 seats. The Republicans have retained control of the U.S. House and if trends continue will lose 12 seats.

In the 33 U.S. Senate races, the Republicans have won 14 seats and are leading in the races for 0 seats. The Democrats have won 19 seats and are leading in the races for 0 seats. Independent and other party candidates have won or are leading for 0 seats.
