Police looking for intruders who shot Texas woman with BB gun

GAINESVILLE -- Police say three men wearing clown masks broke into a North Texas woman's home and shot her with a BB gun Tuesday evening.

A 31-year-old female victim reported that she had fallen asleep on her couch and woke up when the intruders entered her house.

The victim says all three men spoke to one another in Spanish but nothing was said to her directly.

The intruders shot the BB guns in the residence and one intruder turned his pistol at the victim and shot her in the face causing an injury to her nose and arm.  All three fled the residence.

The victim told officers a young Hispanic male came to the home looking for her son about 30 minutes prior to the incident and she believes this person was one of the three intruders in the residence.

Surveillance video from a neighbor corroborates the victim's account of events.

The offense is being investigated as a Burglary of a Habitation since the people that entered the home, did so without the consent of the victim and committed an assault.

The offense is a 2nd degree Felony which is punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000.00, a jail term of not more than 20 years or less than 2 years, or both.
