DALLAS — A motorist who eluded a traffic stop in Garland led multiple police agencies on a pursuit through four cities that lasted for more than an hour Wednesday night.
The driver a sport utility vehicle was reported to be driving erratically during the chase that started around 8:30 p.m. and traversed highways and local streets through Garland, Mesquite, Dallas and Balch Springs.
At one point, the SUV careened through a Walmart parking lot at St. Francis Avenue and Interstate 30 in East Dallas. The motorist also drove through yards and on sidewalks, striking several other vehicles along the way.
He was captured after driving back to the Walmart store and crashing near the entrance.
The suspect, whose name was not available, was transferred to an ambulance after being heard screaming in the back of a Dallas County Sheriff's Office vehicle.
