Plano students shot with BBs walking to school

A group of Renner Middle School students, accompanied by a school staff member, were shot with BB gun pellets while returning from their mentorship service at Brinker Elementary School Thursday.

Two students in the group were hit with pellets in the Muehlenbeck Center parking lot, which came from a car described as a small silver sedan.

The two students who sustained minor injuries were treated and released by the Plano Fire Department.

School administrators are working with witnesses, safety and security personnel and the Plano Police Department to investigate this incident.

There were additional police patrols for the remainder of the day and during dismissal.
