WOODINVILLE, Washington — One person died and another was hurt when a Cessna-type plane crashed into a house in a Seattle suburb on Saturday afternoon.
Deputy Charlie Akers with the King County Sheriff's Office said witnesses reported hearing a plane sputtering over Woodinville, about 16 miles northeast of Sattle.
"When they looked up they noticed the propeller actually stopped and the plane rolled over and went into the house," Akers said.
Two people were aboard the aircraft. A male in his late teens or early 20s was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. A man, thought to be an uncle, was dead at the scene.
No one on the ground was hurt.
It was not immediately known where the plane took off from and where it was going.
Puget Sound Energy was called in to repair a broken gas line.
The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate.
