The U.S. bank that had handled Cuba's accounts severed the relationship last year but agreed to continue accepting deposits through Feb. 17. Consular services were temporarily halted in November but restarted in December after M&T Bank granted the extension.
Travel operators had been gearing up for the deadline and advised those who plan to travel to the Caribbean island to get their documents in before Feb. 17.
