Ford Motor Co. is unveiling the 2015 F-150 pickup truck Monday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It will go on sale at the end of this year. Here are some details:

OUTSIDE:

— For the first time, the body of the truck is made mostly of aluminum. That makes the truck up to 700 pounds lighter than the current F-150, depending on the configuration. The frame beneath it is still made of high-strength steel.

— New features include LED headlamps and tail lamps, LED spotlights on the side mirrors and in the bed and BoxLink, a system of metal brackets and cleats in the bed that can secure accessories like ramps or storage bins.

INSIDE:

— The seats are 20 millimeters farther apart, making space for a wide center console with a wide storage compartment that's more than 2 feet deep.

— A new optional camera system can see all the way around the truck and project images on an 8-inch center screen.

— New 400-watt power outlets in the cab allow drivers to recharge tools or mobile devices.

— New safety options include second-row inflatable safety belts, blind-spot detection and a lane-keeping system that warns drivers if they're drifting.

UNDER THE HOOD:

— There are two new engines: A 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and a 3.5-liter V6. A 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and 5.0-liter V8 are carried over from the previous model. Ford is no longer offering its 6.2-liter V8 or its 3.7-liter V6.

VARIATIONS:

— Five trim levels will be available when the truck goes on sale: XL, XLT, Lariat, Platinum and King Ranch.

PRICE:

— Not released. Ford says it will be in the same range as the current truck.

FUEL ECONOMY:

— Not released, but Ford says it will be the best in its class.

MANUFACTURING:

— The truck will be built at plants in Dearborn, Mich., and Claycomo, Mo.
