MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) — A police spokeswoman says an ex-convict suspected of gunning down a suburban New York police officer and then shooting to death a carjacking victim is being transferred from a hospital to Nassau County police headquarters on Long Island.
Darrell Fuller had been taken to a Queens hospital on Tuesday after police say he suffered self-inflicted gunshot wounds. His arrest came hours after he is alleged to have fatally shot a Nassau County officer. He also is suspected of fleeing that shooting and then killing a man while carjacking his vehicle.
No formal charges have been filed against Fuller, who can't be reached for comment. It's unknown if the 33-year-old Queens man has an attorney.
A Nassau police spokeswoman won't discuss Fuller's condition.
A spokesman for the Nassau district attorney says an arraignment won't take place until Thursday at the earliest.
