A top Mexican drug cartel leader has been captured.
Members of the Mexican Army paraded Carlos Oliva Castillo in handcuffs in front of the media on Thursday.
Officials say Castillo, also known as “La Rana” or “The Frog”, oversaw the Zetas drug cartel’s operations in three northeastern Mexican states.
He was taken into custody without incident.
The head of Castillo’s security and a woman thought to be his girlfriend were also arrested.
Authorities believe Castillo ordered underlings to set a Monterrey casino on fire in August because the casino owner didn’t hand over money to the Zetas.
Fifty-two people died in that suspected arson.
