The report of an explosion in New York has injured as many as 15 people Saturday evening. There are conflicting reports on the number of injured.
Multiple media outlets reported on the explosion in NY’s Chelsea neighborhood around 8:30 p.m on 23rd street near 6th Avenue.
USA TODAY reported the explosion appeared to have happened in a dumpster outside a 14-story building.
There were no initial reports of fatalities.

The Associated Press reported that firefighters were at the scene and that the New York Fire Department said the blast was reported shortly before 9 p.m.
Earlier in the day a pipe bomb exploded in Seaside Park, New Jersey near a Marine charity run. The device was placed in a garbage can.
