Man arrested for assaulting paramedic in Dallas

DALLAS -- Police arrested a man early Friday morning for assaulting a paramedic.

Pilo Tienda, 32, was arrested for assault on a public servant.

Paramedics told officers they were called to the scene by Tienda, who was asking for medical assistance.

When paramedics checked Tienda and told him he didn't need to be transported to the hospital, Tienda became angry. Tienda then punched one of two paramedics and tackled him to the ground. The second paramedic was able to free his colleague and then held Tienda down until Dallas police arrived.

The first paramedic suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
