ALLEN –– The North Texas running community is rallying to help the victims of the bombing at the Boston Marathon.

Luke's Locker, a running and fitness store with locations across Texas, sponsored nine runs, including runs on Wednesday morning in Dallas and Plano. They asked everyone to wear gold, blue and yellow, the colors of the marathon.

"The running community is just so bonded," said Allen store manager Marty Allen. "We're all friends.  We all know each other. All we're trying to do is show our support for the runners, the families and the victims."

Allen says his store has been receiving a barrage of phone calls from customers who want to help. The stores will donate $1 for every pair of shoes they sell to provide relief to the victims in Boston.

"An employee of mine was there, so it's very personal," said Allen. "It's very close to everybody."

At 6:30 p.m., there will be two Runs for Boston in Colleyville and Fort Worth. The run at the Allen Store will be held at 7 p.m.
