Hurst officer hit by suspected drunk driver

HURST -- A 22-year-old woman is facing charges after crashing into a Hurst police officer vehicle overnight Saturday.

According to Hurst police, it happened shortly after 3 a.m. in the 100 block of the northbound lanes of Loop 820. Hurst Police Officer Brandon Minchew was inside his patrol Chevrolet Tahoe when he was struck in the back by an oncoming white Mazda sedan.

Officer Minchew was blocking lanes of traffic from a previous crash. He was sent to the hospital for injuries and was later released. 

The driver Anna Elizabeth Bowden, 22, of Keller, was not injured. She was arrested and booked into Hurst Jail for intoxication assault with a vehicle.
