Widespread rain over Friday morning commute

The Friday morning commute into work has been rainy, with widespread activity across North Texas.

News 8 Chief Meteorologist Pete Delkus said Thursday that showers would develop at about 3 a.m. Friday in North Texas and then transition into more widespread rain by 6 a.m.

“I do believe by [Friday] morning 100 percent of the Dallas-Fort Worth area will see measurable rain,” said Delkus.

Rain will begin to end by the noon hour with sun returning by Friday afternoon.

FRIDAY: Scattered (60%) showers and storms mainly before midday. Increasing afternoon sunshine. Winds: Light S. High: 82.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear skies, not as cool. Winds: S 5-10. Low: 69.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny skies and much warmer. Winds: S 10-15. High: 87.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear skies and mild. Winds: S 10-15. Low: 70.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny skies and even warmer. Winds: S 10-20. High: 89.
