A vigil was held Sunday night in Dallas for the victims of the mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub early Sunday morning.
Over 6,000 people were invited to attend Dallas to Orlando, a Vigil for Those Lost on 6/12 on Facebook. By 3:30 p.m., over 750 had listed themselves as attendees.
The vigil was held 8 p.m. at the Resource Center located at 5750 Cedar Springs Road. Despite rain, hundreds of supporters brought candles and flowers in honor of those who were lost in Orlando.
Various speakers addressed the crowd, including Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings. Following the remarks, the group of hundreds walked in a procession march from the Resource Center to the "Legacy of Love" statue in Oak Lawn.
The vigil was first scheduled for Tuesday, but was pushed up to Sunday night.
On the other side of DFW, Celebration Community Church in Fort Worth has scheduled a vigil for the Orlando victims at 7 p.m. Monday.
