Boyfriend now a suspect in Zuzu Verk disappearance

Zuzu's boyfriend named a suspect in missing case

The boyfriend of a missing college student from Keller has been changed from a “person of interest” to a suspect her disappearance, according to Alpine Police.

A release from the department Wednesday afternoon said Robert Fabian is now a suspect, and his family members are considered persons of interest in the Zuzu Verk case.

Fabian, the last person to be seen with the 21-year-old woman, hasn’t been cooperating with investigators, News 8 was told. His lawyer disputed that claim, according to a report from KMID.

A neighbor of Fabian's at his apartment complex said he had been asked not to discuss what he knew in detail. He did say he heard the couple arguing the night Zuzu disappeared.

Verk, a student at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas went missing two weeks ago. A search for clues has spanned 400 square miles, authorities told News 8.

Alpine Police have named at least two different vehicles as key pieces of evidence in the case.
