Authorities donate bike to Whataburger employee after theft

HICKORY CREEK, Texas — Authorities in Hickory Creek and Corinth surprised a Whataburger employee whose bicycle was stolen Monday morning.

According to police, Kristen's bike was stolen from behind the fast food restaurant as she worked.

"She is one of the nicest, most friendly and personable employees there," read a post from the department on their Facebook page.

Upon hearing the news, Chief Carey Dunn contacted the Corinth chief, Debra Walthall. They decided to gather funds and purchase Kristen a new bike.

Hickory Creek and Corinth police, along with the Lake Cities Fire Department, surprised Kristen with the new bike before her shift ended Monday.
