FORT WORTH -- Loved ones hugged and held their faces in their hands, filled with disbelief.

It was simply too hard to comprehend how a woman can go into her office Monday and not return home that night.

A woman was killed Monday afternoon in a stabbing at a RE/MAX real estate office on Heritage Trace Parkway near Alliance Town Center. On Tuesday morning, the woman was identified as Suzanne Parsons, 49, of Haslet.

"It's always disturbing when you have a homicide at all, so no matter where it is in the city, it's sad, it's horrific," said Fort Worth Police Cpl. Tracey Knight. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim."

Parsons was an employee at the RE/MAX office, near the Keller city line. The office is in a busy complex in the 4200 block of Heritage Trace Blvd., dotted with several doctors' offices and a restaurant.

Police say she was stabbed while she was at work at about 4:30 p.m. The killer fled the scene, leaving workers in nearby offices unnerved.

"We locked the doors and made sure our patients were safe," said Shana Sun, who works in an eye clinic nearby.  "It just breaks my heart."

While no one was arrested, police said the public was not in danger. Investigators believe the crime was not random.

"I don't want to give the impression to the public this is a stranger-on-stranger crime," Knight said.

She suspects the incident was domestic.

Police would say little about a possible suspect, but detectives are looking to question a man in his 50s.
