FORT WORTH — A woman killed in a tiny bar in the Fort Worth Stockyards district Sunday had just stopped for a drink with friends after helping raise money for victims of a house fire.
Sylvia Salazar, 56, died from a stray bullet or bullets.
Four men were wounded at the North Side Outlaws bar at 115 NW 25th Street, a block off North Main. The pub isn't much bigger than a living room.
"The first thing I heard was like fireworks, so I guess those were shots," said Patrick Booths, who works across the street at the Stockyards Hotel.
Police said the shooting happened after an altercation about 8:45 p.m. Sunday
Raymond Guerrero said Salazar was his friend, and a well-loved grandmother who had nothing to do with the altercation.
"My deepest and most sincere sympathy and condolences to our customers and their families for Sunday's horrific tragedy," said a posting on the North Side Outlaws Facebook page. "If anyone has any information please contact the detectives and help us put these cowards away!!!"
Police have released little information, but say they are putting a lot of manpower into the investigation.
Authorities said the four men who were injured are expected to recover.
