FORT WORTH — Fort Worth police are investigating two deadly accidents on Sunday afternoon.
Two cars were involved in a wreck under a railroad bridge in the 1200 block of Northeast 28th Street around 3 p.m.
One person was killed; seven others were expected to recover.
There was another fatal accident at around the same time less than eight miles away on Loop 820 in Fort Worth. Police said a Dodge pickup truck changed lanes and hit a Chevrolet Impala sedan. The truck then careened over the guardrail and collided with an 18-wheeler traveling in the other direction.
The driver of the pickup truck, identified the victim as 25-year-old Joshua Kent of Hurst, was pronounced dead at Texas Health Fort Worth Hospital. A small child who was a passenger in the truck was taken to Cook Children's Medical Center in good condition.
Investigators said there were no other significant injuries.
