ARLINGTON -- Calling all thrill-seekers!

Want to experience the tallest swing ride in the world? Head to Arlington.

Guinness World Records has dubbed the Texas SkyScreamer at Six Flags Over Texas the “World’s Tallest Swing Carousel Ride.”

The ride, standing over 400 feet tall and reaching speeds up to 35 mph, surpasses the previous record holder, Prater Turm in Vienna, Austria, by 19 feet.

According to a press release, since the Texas SkyScreamer opened in May, over 100,000 guests have enjoyed the “breathtaking view of Arlington, Dallas and Fort Worth skylines.”

“The notion that everything is bigger in Texas certainly rings true now that the Texas SkyScreamer has officially been named the world’s tallest swing ride,” said Steve Martindale, Six Flags Over Texas park president. “We are proud to have this iconic landmark serve as a source of entertainment for families and thrill-seekers near and far.”

The official measurement was overseen by Britain & Crawford Land Surveying and Topographic Mapping of Fort Worth, with Decima Cooper, Director of Public Relations for Experience Arlington, and Warren Williams, an engineer and surveyor of Graham Association, Inc. of Arlington, Texas as official witnesses.
