FORT WORTH -- The Tarrant County Commmisioner's Court approved an outdoor burn ban for the county Tuesday.

The ban will be in place for the next 90 days, and violating the ban can result in a Class C Misdemeanor and a fine up to $500.

A release from the county fire marshal said the Tarrant County is under "imminent threat" of wildfires due to the "dry grass conditions and gusty winds that occur during the winter season."
