GRAPEVINE — Streets surrounding a parcel handling facility near Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport were shut down Tuesday afternoon after a suspicious package was identified.

A spokesperson for the City of Grapevine said an employee at Expeditors International was scanning incoming packages when that person saw something he didn't like.

Grapevine police and firefighters arrived to evaluate the situation in the 500 block of East Dallas Road just northeast of DFW Airport in advance of the arrival of a bomb squad unit.

Expeditors employees were evacuated from the building and were seen standing under a nearby tree to keep cool.
