Storm knocks out power across North Texas

The overnight storm knocked out power to thousands of North Texans and was responsible for some minor damage.

Part of the roof at at Eagle Mountain Lake Marina was ripped away by the high wind.

More than 15,000 homes and businesses were in the dark at 6 a.m. Sunday, when outages peaked. By 8:30 a.m., power had been restored to all but 8,000 customers.

We found utility poles bent over precariously at Midway Road, just south of Parker Road in Plano.

Workers from Oncor were out Sunday morning trying to restore electricity. News 8 observed one crew working on a utitlity pole in carrollton at the corner of Hebron Parkway and Medical Parkway in Carrollton.
