FORT WORTH — A body was recovered Sunday after a boater reportedly fell into Lake Arlington on Saturday night.

Dive teams from the Fort Worth and Arlington fire departments began looking for the unidentified man who had been in a canoe that capsized just before 9 p.m. Saturday. The search was called off at midnight.

Fort Worth Fire Department spokesman Timothy Hardeman said witnesses reported seeing the boater attempting to get back in the canoe before he disappeared.

The boat had been launched from Eugene McCray Park in Fort Worth, where teams of divers resumed their search early Sunday.

An Arlington Fire Department rescue crew found a body in the vicinity where the boater had gone missing. Identification was pending a review by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office.
