FORT WORTH — Sunday's rain delay hurt attendance for the Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Track officials say 71,000 fans showed up Monday. The fans were rewarded with near perfect weather and an exciting racing.
Much of the crowd in the stands came to North Texas for the NCAA Final Four. Some said the one-day delay gave them a chance they didn't expect.
"Kind of a weird double header," said Gary Gentry, who came in from South Carolina. "Basketball and racing, but it works."
He was wearing Kentucky Wildcat blue.
Matt Reisetter, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, also came for basketball. The delayed race dropped right into his bucket list. He showed up at the track Monday morning and said the tickets "fell into my lap."
It was his first race and he says he'll be back.
