ARLINGTON -- Police in Arlington have arrested a suspect after a man was shot to death and another was injured Thursday night in Marti Van Ravenswaay Park.

Shortly before midnight, officers responded to a report of gunshots the park. Police say when they arrived they discovered two men with apparent gunshot wounds.

They have been identified as Brince Shaw, 21, and Timothy Pickens, also 21.

Both were taken to Medical Center of Arlington, where Shaw was pronounced dead. Pickens is being treated and is expected to survive.

Witnesses recognized the shooter as Deaudrick Jewuane Clayton, 25. He was arrested Friday and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

Investigators believe the victims and the suspect agreed to meet at the park after a previous altercation in a different city, and the incident does not appear to have been a random act.

Witnesses told police Clayton shot at the two men before leaving the scene in a dark-colored four-door passenger vehicle.

Clayton is currently in thre Arlington City Jail on a $350,000 bail.
