Poll:
Should Texans be permitted to carry arms openly?

ARLINGTON — People strapped on rifles and marched down the street in Arlington on Sunday.

Members of Open Carry Texas say they support Second Amendment rights. The group hopes they can take the positive interactions they receive from openly carrying guns to lawmakers, hoping to lay the groundwork to change state legislation.

"There's no issue there; we're not the bad guy, we're not out to cause problems," said Open Carry Texas spokesman Daniel Wood. "A guy with a gun is not necessarily meaning a bad guy."

Texas is one of a handful of states that permits citizens to carry concealed weapons, but guns can't be carried in the open.
