FORT WORTH -- Police investigators are asking for the public's help to find the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident Saturday evening that left a five-month-old dead.

At about 6 p.m. in the 4700 block of Wichita St. a southbound SUV turned left on to Martin St. and while making the turn was struck on the passenger side by a white, four-door Pontiac driven by a black male.

A five-month-old child was ejected from the SUV in the crash and taken to Cook Children's Medical Center in critical condition, but died the next day.

After the crash, the suspect's vehicle, a white 2000 Pontiac with Texas plate 36T2115, fled the scene. Two occupants of the vehicle were later located at John Peter Smith Hospital and were interviewed, but the driver remains unknown.

If you have any information regarding the driver, contact Detective Sorrels with the Fort Worth police at 817.392.4891.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
