ARLINGTON – A former Kennedale ISD teacher’s aide has been charged with sexual assault of a child related to a report that he had a relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
Juan Clemente Silvas, 24, was arrested and charged on Tuesday. Silvas left the Kennedale Independent School District for a job in Dallas ISD and was set to start the day he was arrested. The alleged crime occurred after he left his position at Kennedale ISD.
Arlington police spokeswoman Tiara Richard said the victim’s mother reached out to the department on Sunday, triggering the investigation. He was arrested after voluntarily coming to the department for an interview with a detective.
He was arrested Tuesday and released on $3,500 bond later that day.
