Pump It Up Arlington

ARLINGTON — A popular birthday spot for children in Arlington is catching the ire of some former customers.

Pump It Up in Arlington is a play house of sorts for kids, filled with inflatable slides and bounce houses.

But on Monday morning, trash from the location off Eden Road was scattered in a nearby neighborhood.

Much of it contained sensitive information — like partial credit card numbers, receipts, phone numbers, and even home addresses of families that have used the facility.

"It's irritating, very irritating," said Liska Best, who held a party for her sons over the weekend.

News 8 reached out to her after finding her family's information.

But well over a dozen other families were also listed.

All of it concerned Peter Clement, who was one of the first neighbors to notice the improperly disposed trash.

"You [could] get a hold of a child, and sound like you know the parent and perhaps give info about who is home at the time," Clement said.

Trash from a dumpster sitting outside of the business was overflowing.

Pump It Up locations are franchised. The owner of the Arlington facility, Joy Narciso, said in a statement:

"Protecting the privacy of our customers’ information is of the utmost importance to us. Our party confirmations are typically stored at our facilities and not disposed of. We apologize for this mix-up and will take further steps onsite to ensure the privacy of our customer information."

Neighbors said the trash issue has been ongoing, but Narciso said she hadn't heard any complaints until recently.

Arlington's code enforcement department has been contacted.
