FORT WORTH — Hundreds packed Bass Performance Hall Saturday for a special concert to to honor its namesake, Nancy Lee Bass.
The Fort Worth philanthropist and matriarch of the Bass family died last month at age 95.
The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra performed several songs in the celebration of her life, ranging from Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, Op. 95, to "The Eyes of Texas," during Saturday afternoon's concert.
Longtime Bass family friend Dee Kelly shared his memories of Mrs. Bass with the audience; so did Dr. Barry Bailey, former pastor at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth.
