TARRANT COUNTY — A Cleburne teenager was killed Friday afternoon when her vehicle was struck by another car.
Police said Heidi Hunt, 17, was a passenger in a car that was turning left on FM 1187 when a car traveling in the other direction crashed into its side just before five o'clock.
Heidi died instantly.
United Bible Church dedicated Saturday evening's service to Heidi, who was described as an outgoing, friendly girl.
The Joshua High School senior was said to have been active in church events.
Investigators said the stretch of FM 1187 where she died is a dangerous spot because of a curve in the two-lane road, and this is not the first time someone has died at the location.
Wanda Whitaker of Burleson and her nine-year-old granddaughter were killed along the same stretch of east of Rendon Road in late April. Another woman was badly injured when Whitaker's van collided with an SUV.
The road is being widened from two lanes to four.
