FORT WORTH — A swarm of bees attacked eight people in a Fort Worth neighborhood on Sunday afternoon, sending two to the hospital.
Four firefighters and two paramedics responding to the emergency call were among the bee sting victims.
Fire department officials said two people were stung when they discovered the swarm at a house on Galvez Avenue.
One elderly man was stung more than 100 times. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
A paramedic who is allergic to bees was also hospitalized.
Experts say bees breed more actively in the summer months, and beekeepers told News 8 they field about 100 calls a day to deal with swarms.
