EARLIER: AZLE -- Azle police have requested the public's help in locating a missing 61-year-old woman they fear may be disoriented and sought shelter during Monday night's storms.
According to The Azle News, Donna Johnstone sounded confused and disoriented when she spoke on her cell phone to family members at 1 a.m. Tuesday. She told family members she could read a street sign at the corner of Lakeview Drive and Broadway Avenue.
Azle police later found Johnstone's car in a driveway on Broadway Avenue, but didn't find the missing woman.
A family member told The Azle News Johnstone recently had surgery and they believe the additional medications left her confused and disoriented.
Johnstone was last seen wearing a baseball cap, a long-sleeve, green-striped shirt, and green capri pants.
Police are now searching the woods east of both North and South Ash Avenue all the way to Eagle Mountain Lake for Johnstone. They've asked residents in the area to check storage buildings, sheds, and any other covered areas the missing woman may have taken shelter in during storms.
