FORT WORTH -- Six people, including five children, were taken to local hospitals for minor injuries after a Fort Worth ISD bus on the way to a field trip collided with a car Tuesday morning.

There were 35 nine- and ten-year-old children from Bill J. Elliott Elementary, two adults, and a driver on board the bus, which hit a car on Interstate-30 westbound just east of Interstate-35W.

Five children were transported by MedStar to Cook Children's Medical Center as a precaution and one adult was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital. One other student was taken by a private vehicle to a personal doctor.

The other students were placed on another bus and taken back to school, according to Fort Worth ISD spokesman Clint Bond.

It is unclear at this time where the field trip was headed.
