RICHARDSON — Richardson is employing a modified version of its stage three water restriction measures beginning April 1 due to continuing critical water shortages.
The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) has notified all of its member cities to continue only every other week watering due to the shortages. In the past, Richardson and other member cities had been able to alleviate restrictions during the spring and summer months.
The modification prohibits outdoor watering to between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and only twice a month on specified days. Normal stage three water restrictions allowed watering at any time of the day.
The allowed landscape water days are organized by the last digit of addresses. Even numbers are allowed to water on the first and third Saturday of the month and odd numbers are given the first and third Sundays.
