RICHARDSON -- Different groups of protesters arguing over Islam confronted each other in Richardson Sunday.
At times, the encounter was tense. A group that supports President Donald Trump showed up outside the Islamic Association of North Texas, armed with guns, saying they wanted to draw attention to radical Muslims.
The Islamic Association says it's dedicated to peace, worship and community service. Other protesters showed up to support that organization and its mission.
After a couple of hours of heated moments between the groups, the Islamic Association offered to sit down to lunch with their detractors.
Representatives from all sides accepted saying, an open discussion is a good, first step.
