ARLINGTON — A man was found fatally wounded in a shooting that left three others injured early Friday morning at an apartment complex in Arlington.
Police arrived to the scene in the 2000 block of Crest Creek Dr. to find an unidentified man dead on a balcony at the complex and two men and a woman injured. The injured victims were transported to an area hospital with injuries that didn't appear life threatening, according to police.
During their investigation at the scene, police found drugs and a gun inside a nearby dumpster. Police also towed a car from the scene and searched a third floor apartment for evidence.
Jeffrey Houston, a spokesman with the Arlington Police Department, said investigators went door to door in a search for potential witnesses. He said authorities were unsure in the early morning hours if more than one person fired shots.
"A lot of people heard the shots," he said. "We're trying to find people who actually saw what happened here."
Nikki Pickard, who lives in the complex, said she woke up to the sound of about 20 shots and called 911.
"The Arlington police were really quick to respond, so I was really glad about that I didn't really fear for my own safety," she said.
Authorities have asked that anyone with information call Det. Ben Lopez at 817-459-5373 or Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS (8477).
