FORT WORTH — A rare pistol is missing from a Fort Worth museum.

Officials at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History would not say that the 100-year-old antique weapon was stolen; only that it had been seen on Tuesday morning and was gone by Tuesday afternoon.

Specific information about the pistol — including its color, appearance, and brand — have not yet been provided, nor has a photograph been made available.

Surveillance video was being reviewed to help determine what happened.

The pistol was part of the Cattle Raisers Museum on the second floor, a permanent exhibit that documents the history of the livestock industry.

The Museum of Science and History is also playing host to a traveling exhibition of artifacts from the Titanic which runs through March 24, 2013.
