ARLINGTON - A woman was taken to a North Texas hospital and her alleged kidnapper arrested after a standoff early Friday morning in Arlington.

Investigators were alerted to the kidnapping at about 5 p.m. Thursday. The woman was allegedly taken against her will at a Walmart, located in the 900 block of E. Randol Mill Rd. near Cowboys Stadium.

At about 2 a.m. Friday, police received a tip that the suspect's vehicle was parked at a duplex in the 1100 block of N. Center St., less than one mile northwest of the site of the alleged kidnapping. That tip came from the victim herself –– police say she called 911.

Investigators confirmed that she was missing and located her car in the driveway of the duplex. The suspect, Jeffry Fredrick Womack, went inside the home and soon surrendered. He's charged with aggravated kidnapping, robbery and three counts of aggravated sexual assault.

He lists the site of his arrest as his home address. Two women who live there, however, say they do not know him and did not realize he was inside the home because they were asleep. Police detained them but did not arrest them.

Friday morning, Sgt Christopher Cook, a spokesman with the Arlington Police Department, said the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation, but did not reveal further details on her condition.
