FORT WORTH — Police have arrested a suspect in the hit-and-run death of a woman who was walking along Interstate 30 in Fort Worth early Sunday morning.
Fort Worth investigators worked with their colleagues in Arlington to track down the driver of a black Jeep Wrangler that had been observed swerving on Interstate 30 near Beach Street around 3 a.m. by a Fort Worth patrol officer.
It wasn't until two hours later, however, that a 911 caller reported seeing the victim's body along the roadway.
Police said information noted by the Fort Worth officer was enough to trace the vehicle to an address in Arlington, where its driver, identified as Jeffrey Holland, was arrested and charged with an accident causing serious bodily injury or death.
Officials did not release the name of the victim.
