Two-alarm fire

FORT WORTH — A fierce fire engulfed a residence in the Summer Creek Ranch subdivision in southwest Fort Worth on Saturday night.

Dramatic video taken by WFAA viewer Trey Hart showed large flames leaping from the roof of the home on Deepwood Lane as firefighters worked to keep the two-alarm blaze under control — and to protect adjoining properties from stray embers.

Moments before the fire broke out, neighbors reported hearing a loud "crack." Fort Worth Fire Department dispatchers said there were indications that the fire was sparked by a lightning bolt, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
