DENTON — People ran for cover as storms rolled in swiftly in Denton just after 6 o'clock Saturday night.

The rain put one of the weekend’s hottest events, 35 Denton, on hold for hours.

Organizers of the music festival had to delay several shows slated for the evening because of the strong storms.

“There were people outside of the shows with umbrellas... it looked kinda miserable,” said Joshua Paul.

Paul was one of many who ran for cover as the rain pounded festival-goers. Some found canopies and others huddled under tents.

Organizers draped tarps over equipment to keep it from getting drenched.

“We may spend the night here if it's this bad when we leave,” said Charlene Greer, who was attending a theater performance downtown.

The 35 Denton Facebook page will post any further changes to the schedule. We understand one show has been moved to a covered enclosure.
