The Lewisville Police Department hopes surveillance footage can help identify a man who robbed the Bank of the West at 329 W. Main St. on Friday.

Capt. Kevin Deaver, the department's spokesman, says the man flashed a note demanding cash at about 10 a.m. and fled in an unknown direction. The suspect is a black man who stands between 5 feet and 5'2. Says Deaver, "He was wearing large sunglasses, jeans and a long-sleeve button up shirt."

The department asks that residents pay extra attention to the markings on his ball cap.

Anyone who can help identify the man is asked to call the Lewisville Police Department at 972.219.8477 or the Denton County Crimes Stoppers at 1.800.388.8477.
