COMMERCE, Texas — Controversy surrounds the end of a girls' high school basketball playoff game.
Argyle was playing Celina on Saturday in a Class 3A matchup; the winner would go to the state's Final Four tournament.
In the final seconds of a game that went to double-overtime, an Argyle player appears to grab the arm of an Celina player, fouling her.
At that moment, there was a one-point difference, and a foul would give Celina a chance to win with free throws.
But video shows the officials quickly sprinting off the court, saying the game was over. Final score: Argyle 51, Celina 50.
That call stunned Celina's coach, who went running after them to ask about what just happened.
There is no word on whether Celina will appeal the officiating.
