ROANOKE -- A plane went down near Northwest Regional Airport in Denton County Thursday at approximately 6:10 p.m.
A DPS spokesman said a Meyers Special bi-plane was taking off when it lost power. The pilot, Philip Witt, tried to land but crashed through a fence at the end of the runway and flipped the plane.
The pilot was strapped in and suffered only minor cuts and bruises. He was treated at the scene.
