Rescue teams will continue searching on Labor Day for two men who went missing at Lewisville Lake in separate incidents.

Officials said a man was riding on an inner tube being pulled by a rented pontoon boat near Hidden Cove Park Sunday morning when he went under water and failed to surface.

The Lewisville Fire Department dive team also continued its search Sunday for a second man who disappeared in the same general vicinity on Friday night.

Neither of the missing men was believed to have been wearing a life jacket, Denton police reported.

"Wear your life jacket when you are on the water," urged Game Warden Stormy McCuistion. "Regardless of how old you are, how big or small you are, the water does not discriminate."

Efforts to locate the missing men were unsuccessful on Sunday. Search teams will return to the lake with the first light on Monday.

The ongoing drought has left Lewisville Lake more than 7.5 feet below its normal level, exposing tree trunks and other debris. Perhaps even more dangerous are the objects lurking just under the surface.
